TRAC SEATS ProRide Suspension Seat Review
TRAC SEATS ProRide Suspension Seat
Trac Seats currently offers two different suspension systems that can be added to zero-turn mowers, tractors, and more. We last reviewed the budget-friendly Trac Seats suspension kit that gets installed between your existing seat and the frame of your machine. We were satisfied with the results, and the price was very affordable. However, Trac Seats told us that if we liked the comfort of the suspension kit, we would love their ProRide full suspension seat. Therefore, they sent us one for testing purposes.
Trac Seats ProRide suspension seat is a commercial-grade seat and suspension system that is made in the USA. The ProRide seat can be added to any mower or machine and creates an incredibly soft and comfortable ride. The ProRide suspension seat has a functional suspension system that allows approximately 3 inches of travel for the seat to compress and rebound softly. Paired with comfortable foam and commercial-grade vinyl, the Trac Seats ProRide suspension seat brought the next level of comfort to our zero-turn while testing.

Trac Seats ProRide Suspension Seat Installation
Installation of the Trac Seats ProRide Suspension Seat is very easy and takes about 15 minutes. First, I recommend that you verify that the seat you are ordering is the correct seat for your machine. It would be beneficial to double-check the bolt measurements under your seat to ensure the dimensions are correct with those listed on the Trac Seats website.
To install the seat, simply remove your old seat by removing the four nuts that hold it onto the frame. Disconnect the seat safety switch wire and remove the old seat from your machine. Next, remove the seat safety mechanism from the old seat. Clip the seat safety switch into the new seat then plug in the safety switch wire and install the new seat with four nuts.
Trac Seats ProRide allows for more room and more comfort.
The Trac Seats ProRide Suspension Seat is slightly larger than my OEM seat, about ¼” on each side. Although that may not seem like much, in total, a larger seat provides more room and therefore extra comfort while sitting. The seat is also molded from firm foam and the sewn seat cover is a heavy-duty vinyl material. The foam is comfortable. The vinyl feels to be of good quality like it is built to last.
Trac Seats ProRide Suspension/comfort while mowing
Trac Seats ProRide Suspension Seat provides for a new seat, along with a built-in suspension system, that allows approximately three inches of suspension travel. This extra depth for compression allows the suspension seat to softly absorb small and large bumps, as well as vibrations, that your body would normally have to absorb. Once we added the ProRide suspension seat, it elevated the ride of this machine to the next level. An example of the softness this seat provides is that I tend to jump into the seat when I sit down. It’s not something that I realize I do, but when I jumped into the ProRide seat, there was no more bottoming out. In this photograph, you can also see that the suspension mechanism (under the seat) is protected by a rubber skirt to help keep dust and dirt from entering the mechanism.
Ride Compression Adjustment knob
Trac Seats ProRide Suspension Seat has an adjustment knob that will cover a wide range of adjustments based on the operator’s weight and the stiffness they desire. A lighter person will need the seat adjusted softer, and a heavier person will need a stiffer adjustment. Once I found the setting I needed, I didn’t need to make any further adjustments. Additionally, if this seat is used in a commercial setting, each user can quickly and easily make adjustments with the easy-to-read dial.
Adjustable Arm Rests
The Trac Seats ProRide suspension seat has easy-adjust handles. With a quick spin of the adjuster knob, the armrest can stop at a lower or higher angle and adjustments can be made in seconds with no tools required.
Personally, armrest handles never seem to line up with my arms while mowing. While testing the Trac Seats ProRide Suspension Seat I still wasn’t comfortable using the armrest, however, I was able to angle the armrest so that my arms could rest on the edges of them. Although this was an improvement from my stock seat, I still found myself folding them up and getting them out of the way. Some may find this armrest adjustment as a way to find that extra comfort with the adjustable positioning. I would like to see a vertically adjustable armrest that can move up and down.
Final thoughts on the Trac Seats ProRide
In conclusion, the Trac Seats ProRide suspension seat may have a hefty price tag of $698.98, however, I feel that it is 100% worth every penny. Not only do you receive a brand-new seat, but your new seat is mounted on an extremely comfortable suspension mechanism that is made in the USA. If you have a bad back or you just don’t want to feel wear and tear after a few hours of mowing, this seat will absorb almost all impacts from your mower. The three inches of travel are very impressive. The large and small bumps/jiggles that you would normally feel while mowing are no match for the suspension built into this seat. If you are considering this ProRide seat, you won’t regret the added comfort it will provide.
