DEWALT 25 Foot Tape DWHT33385

DEWALT 25 Foot Tape DWHT33385 Reaches Far with 13 Foot Blade Standout

DEWALT recently released a 1.25 inch, 25 Foot Short Tape (DWHT33385) as part of its new industrial hand tools line-up. The tape measure features an over sized end hook for high grabbing capability on job site materials, as well as 13 feet of blade standout to maximize productivity and ease-of-use. Dewalt 25 short tapeIt seems that DEWALT is looking branch out from the power tools and expand in the hand tool market.   A compete new line of hand tools, available in June 2011, will include more than 100 professional-grade products including utility knives, pliers, wrenches, tape measures, hammers, saws, toolboxes and more. For me a tape that can be extended 13 feet unsupported is a major plus when working alone.  I extend my tape blade dozens of times daily and nothing is more frustrating than when you reach that point where the blade collapses.A patented technology, using 3M Thermoplastic film adhered to the first six inches of the blade, extends the lifespan of the product compared to competitive units without the technology. The tape measure also includes a high visibility blade, for better visibility in lighting conditions.

The DEWALT 25 Foot Tape DWHT33385  will be available starting in June 2011 at The Home Depot as well as independent distributors. Complete with a limited lifetime warranty, the tape is expected to retail for approximately $24.99.

I hope to get my hands on one of these tapes to see if it “measures up” to job-site conditions.
