Bosch CM12 Lightweight and Portable 12-Inch Compound Miter Saw

The theory of work smarter not harder also translates to travel and pack lighter!      The new Bosch CM12 12-Inch Single Bevel Compound Miter Saw fits that motto by allowing one-handed portability with a well designed and placed handle and it’s no frills design to reduce weight and make this truly a portable saw.

I run a small remodeling business and most saw applications require me to cut a 1×6 / 2×6 or smaller board.   That means, most days, I do not need the size, capacity and weight of a huge compound, sliding miter saw.  Being able to carry a miter saw one handed means I can open doors with one hand and maneuver thru them or carry an additional item in addition to the saw.   [Similar to my friend Jason in the photo – right]

The Bosch CM12 12-Inch Single Bevel Compound Miter Saw features nine adjustable miter detents and large miter and bevel scales with uniform markings, making them easy to read.   Additional a side bevel lock lever allows for quick and easy saw adjustment without having to reach to the rear of the machine.

The Bosch CM12 12-Inch Single Bevel Compound Miter Saw has a cross cut capacity of 8 inches and 6-inches at a 45-degrees.  The maximum vertical cut is 6-3/4-inches  and it will cut 6 inch nested crown.   Sliding supports allow for 37-inch expanding work  supports to the left or right of the saw.

Powered by a 15 Amp, 4300 RPM motor complete with a brake this saw has an ambidextrous trigger handle to accomodate left handed as well as righ handed users.

The Bosch CM12 has a vacuum-ready dust chute and an adjustable dust elbow vacuum adaptor attachment that connects the saw to a dust bag.

Optional Attachments Include:

  • LS010 Arbor Laser
  • MS1233 Crown Stops
  • MS1234 Length Stop Kit
  • T4B Gravity-Rise Stand
  • GTA3800 Folding Leg Stand with Wheels

The Bosch CM12 retails for approximately $350 on line here: Bosch-Single-Bevel-Compound-Miter
