Deckorators Warranty Now Covers Water and Ground Contact

Deckorators ® , a leading brand of Universal Forest Products, Inc. is making a big splash with new warranty coverage for two of its composite decking lines. The warranty for Vault and Frontier decking has been expanded to include water and ground contact — making Deckorators one of the only brands in the industry to stand behind installations in, or in contact with, water or ground.

Eovations Technology

Featuring patented Eovations TM technology that allows virtually no water absorption, Deckorators Vault and Frontier decking are now backed by an industry-leading 25-year structural, 25-year stain-and- fade and 25-year removal-and- replacement limited warranty that states the boards “may be installed in contact with the ground or submersion in water.” Coverage applies to both fresh and saltwater contact. The enhanced warranty gives contractors and DIYers the peace of mind to use Vault and Frontier on a wide variety of projects that call for attractive looks and long-lasting performance. Besides traditional decks and porches, Vault and Frontier are ideal for structures that come into contact with water or the
ground including:

  • Areas around pools and hot tubs
  • Docks
  • Floating platforms
  • Ground-level decks
  • Pathways

Vault and Frontier Decking

Made with polypropylene and mineral filler in the exclusive Eovations TM process, Vault and Frontier decking absorb virtually no moisture because they contain no organic material. Decking with Eovations TM technology significantly outperformed leading competitive wood-plastic composite decking
in recent water absorption testing. “We believe in the technology behind Deckorators Vault and Frontier decking, and we’re excited to pass
along that confidence to our dealer and contractor partners,” said Chris Camfferman, category marketing director for Deckorators. “Expanded warranty coverage is another way our boards with Eovations TM technology stand out in a crowded decking space.”

Eovations TM technology makes Vault and Frontier decking not only water-resistant, but also strong, lightweight and stable. In the Eovations TM process, the polymer-mineral blend is extruded and stretched. 2 The result is a fibrous, 7/8 inch by 5½ inch composite board that looks and works like wood. At the same time, each board is:

  • 35 percent lighter than most wood-plastic composite decking and similar in weight to PVC for easier handling on the job site.
  • Twice as strong as PVC decking in terms of stiffness-to- weight ratio for superior durability.
  • Extremely stable with the lowest thermal expansion/contraction of any thermoplastic deckboard.

Vault and Frontier boards are capped with polypropylene to create a surface that is stain-, fade- and scratch-resistant for ultra low-maintenance performance. Vault is available in three beautiful color options with natural wood tone variegation: Mesquite (brown), Hickory (light brown) and Dusk (gray). Frontier features three traditional colors with embossing that delivers the classic look of painted wood: Frontier Woodland (brown), Prairie (light
brown/cedar) and Ridgeway (gray).

Each line comes in 12-, 16- and 20-foot solid and slotted-edge profiles, as well as fascia, and works
seamlessly with the Deckorators Dexerdry ® weatherproofing system for decks.
