Werner 12.5 ft. Telescoping Ladder TS1250

The Werner 12.5 ft. Telescoping Ladder TS1250 is expertly engineered for safety, stability, and versatility, making it an ideal choice for professional contractors and DIYers alike. Whether you’re working on residential or commercial projects, this ladder adapts to a variety of tasks, from reaching high shelves, attics, and rooftops to navigating tight spaces where a traditional ladder would be cumbersome.

Werner 12.5 ft. Telescoping Ladder TS1250 | Key Features

  • Telescoping Design – Retracts to 35 inches for compact storage
  • One-Click Unlock Mechanism – Simplifies retraction
  • Speed-Controlled Lowering – Prevents sudden drops and finger injuries
  • Visual Lock Indicators – Ensures ladder is securely locked before climbing
  • Slip-Resistant Feet & Non-Marring Bumpers – Provides stability and protects surfaces
  • Reinforced Rail-to-Rung Connection – Enhances durability and safety
  • Extra-Wide Steps – Offers a comfortable, stable climb
  • Heavy-Duty Construction – Type 1A rating (supports 300 lbs.)

Compact & Portable

One of the biggest advantages of the TS1250 is its telescoping design. When fully collapsed, it measures just 35 inches, making it incredibly easy to store and transport. Weighing 33 lbs., it’s light enough to carry with one hand using the built-in top rung handle. A Velcro strap secures the ladder when stored.

For contractors working out of vans, this ladder is a game-changer. It straps easily to a toolbox wall, and its compact size makes it perfect for quick access to roof racks or materials.

Versatility in Action

With an adjustable height ranging from 3 ft. to 12.5 ft. (16 ft. reach height, based on a 5’7” user), the TS1250 works well in narrow hallways, stairwells, and uneven surfaces. It’s ideal for tasks like:

  • Installing molding, lighting, or drywall
  • Cleaning gutters or accessing rooftops
  • Conducting electrical work in tight spaces
  • Reaching high cabinets or storage areas

Its reinforced aluminum construction ensures durability, even in challenging environments like gravel driveways, sloped lawns, or construction sites.

Smooth & Safe Operation

Extending the ladder is quick and intuitive, with a clear visual lock indicator (green for locked, red for unlocked) for added security.

Retraction is where this ladder truly stands out—thanks to its speed-controlled lowering system, it retracts smoothly and safely, preventing sudden collapses and reducing the risk of pinched fingers. Unlike cheaper telescoping ladders, which can be jerky or unstable, the TS1250 provides a soft-close mechanism for controlled descent.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Because of its telescoping design, keeping the rails free from debris is important for smooth operation. Werner includes a green scrubbing pad to help clean off dust, splatter, or dirt buildup.

I don’t really have any suggestions for improvement on this particular model, but my excavation contractor was saying that he wished there was a narrower version for manhole covers and septic work.

I highly recommended for contractors, carpenters, and anyone looking for a premium telescoping ladder.
