Brunt Costello Tech Shorts
Brunt Costello Tech Shorts Review
Brunt has quickly earned a name for itself by focusing on the real-world feedback from us, the end users. Their boots, pants, and outerwear are designed not just for looks, but for performance. They have mastered blending durability with all-day comfort that doesn’t wear out before you do. Whether you’re climbing ladders, working in a tight crawlspace, or out in the sweltering heat, Brunt’s aims to keep you comfortable and focused, not distracted by stiff seams or warm legs.
In this review, we will cover the Brunt Costello Tech Shorts and see how they stack up when put to the test and whether Brunt truly delivers on its promise for dependable, no-nonsense work wear
Flexibility
With the four-way stretch and gusseted design, these shorts move effortlessly with your body, whether you’re crouching, kneeling, or leaping across a job site. My first thoughts were “these shorts move with me” and “they are great for hot weather”. The flexible fabric responds under pressure without sagging or restricting, delivering real-world performance that stands out among traditional rigid denim or canvas work shorts.
Material
The Costello Tech Short is built from an ultralight 5 oz mini-ripstop nylon fabric infused with four-way stretch, making it both breathable and durable . It features a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that repels light rain and moisture, plus reinforced pocket openings and a gusseted crotch for improved mobility and strength. With seven thoughtfully oriented pockets (including a drop-in phone pocket and zippered security pocket), it strikes a fine balance between utility and streamlined comfort—ideal for work or weekend wear.
Comfort
Comfort is just as important as durability, in my opinion. The lightweight nylon blend is quick-drying and breathable—perfect for sweltering conditions up to triple-digit temps . These shorts might be the most comfortable shorts I’ve ever worn. With a true-to-size fit and 10″ inseam, they sit just above the knee—providing coverage while keeping you cool and agile.
Sleek Look
Though designed for rugged use, the Costello Tech shorts maintain a clean, modern aesthetic. The sleek pocket layout offers a polished appearance suitable for both the job site and casual settings. They can double as “nice going-out shorts,” they look as good on a patio as they feel working outdoors. Available in neutral tones like khaki, charcoal, black, and brown, they coordinate easily with a range of boots, tees, or polos.
Pocket Configuration
The Costello Tech Shorts have 5 pockets. The Tech Shorts have a slanted back pocket design with allows for easier access when reaching into your behind pockets. There is a double-layer knife clip panel on the right and left front pockets. The double-layer pockets are nice for me, not only to secure a pocket knife, but I also clip a tape measure most time. Occasionally, I will hang my impact driver or even my cordless nail gun there, so the extra layer (on both left and right) is a nice touch.
The right side cargo pocket is self-sealing, self-closing, but I would like to see a mid-pocket vertical divider. Without a divider, tools or your phone will wander and land horizontally rather than vertically, as intended. When I carry my torpedo level or utility knife in this pocket, they turn horizontal and begin sticking out when I kneel. Eventually, the shorts will rip from poking out; it would only be a matter of time.
Pricing
Priced at $59.99 per pair directly from Brunt, the Costello Tech Shorts sit at the higher end of performance workwear . However, the optional 4-for-3 pack at $179.99 reduces the effective cost to $45 per pair. For anyone spending long, hot hours on a job site—or just wanting a clean-cut, adaptable short—these represent a smart investment.
Conclusion
When it comes to getting the job done right, the tools you use aren’t just your hands; they are on your back, your feet, and your frame. Work wear is more than just clothing; it’s a critical layer of protection, comfort, and functionality that can make or break a long day on the job. Dependable, well-designed workwear is essential. In a world of demanding trades and tough conditions, your workwear needs to move with you, breathe when it has to, and hold up under stress, and that’s exactly what the Brunt Costello Tech shorts do.
