Eagle America Spline Jig

By Robert Robillard on Workshop tips

Eagle America recently came out with a Spline Jig.

What is a spline jig?Eagle America Spline Jig

A spline jig is a strong and decorative joint used in woodworking and repair operations.  A spline aligns as well as adds strength to a joint by running across the joint, not parallel to it.

Adding splines to narrow miter joints adds strength to the miter joint because the grain of the wood into which it is installed runs diagonally to the spline.

Adding splines to your joinery can be aid in complicated joinery, hidden joint strength or have a decorative effect when contrasting wood is used and left exposed in the end grain.   Common uses are: fine furniture, picture frames and decorative boxes.

This spline jig was designed for you to use as a sled on your table saw and to save time and increase safely.

Eagle America Spline Jig Features:

The Eagle America Spline Jig measures 12″ W x 24″ L and features an embedded t-track with two stop blocks.  The stop blocks are used to sandwich and cut splines in narrow projects, one stop block to clamp and index cuts on medium sized projects or remove both stop blocks for larger projects such as boxes.

The base of the jig is made from durable 1/2″ HDPE which creates a smooth, non-marring surface that slides easily across your table saw top. The adjustable 18″ miter bar will fit in any standard 3/4″ miter slot.

I really like that this jig is Made in the U.S.A.   The Eagle America spline jig sells for              $ 119.99.
