Velux Skylight Features 3 Improvements

At a recent product seminar I saw the new and improved Velux skylight features. They recently have redesigned their line and are offering three new and improved installation flashing and attachment features.

Velux now offers a 10-year “No Leak” warranty on product and installation. The new skylight line has 3 layers of water protection on it’s deck mounted units:

1. A pre-attached deck seal perimeter flange,
2. An adhesive underlayment, and
3. An improved step flashing system.

Velux is using a Low-E 366 glass which improves energy efficiency by reducing heat gain.

Other new features include: A pre-mounted “Pick-and-Click” bracket system for quicker and easier blind installation; a new solar blind; and an improved electric opener system.

I’m hoping that the Spring will bring me the opportunity to install one of these new units.
