Ridgid is trying to cover all the bases with their release of the Close Quarters Manual PEX Crimp Tools.    Designed to compliment the Ridgid Cordless Press Tool.

There are several different types of crimping tools available on the market and I see most plumbers using 3/4 inch crimp tools to build potable water and radiant heating PEX pipe runs and a 1/2 inch crimp tool at a manifold.  PEX plumbing is fast easy and forgiving.

This Crimp Tool line is durable, easy to use and has a handle opening up to 71% smaller than other tools allowing this tool to fit into and maneuver into tight spaces.

These crimp tools excel where the cordless crimp tool cant reach and the handle opening design allows you to get the mouth of the tool open but not take up the space that other tools do with wide handles.

A built-in Go/No-Go Gauge allows the user to check crimp attachments quickly and easily.

Specifications

  • For use with ASTM F1807 copper crimp ring PEX tubing connections.
  • Integrated Go/No-Go Gauge folds into handle for easy storage.
  • Durable, Glass-Filled Polycarbonate E3™ Handles (Expert Engineered Ergonomics) provide increased comfort.
  • Available in 1/2″ and 3/4″ sizes.
  • Easily adjustable cam for tool calibration.

Ridgid is offering the PEX Crimp Tool in two sizes:

  1. 43853 1/2″ Close Quarters PEX Crimp Tool 2.1
  2. 43858 3/4″ Close Quarters PEX Crimp Tool 2.
