The ability to adapt to your safety PPE job site to job site is what makes the Milwaukee Bolt Hard Hat pretty unique. From headlamps to eye protection to full face shields, Milwaukee has options for pretty much any job site you will encounter.
Hard hats can protect employees from impact and penetration hazards. Head injuries can come from various sources: falling objects, fixed objects like unprotected ends of scaffolding poles or other projections, and areas with restricted headroom. Wearing a hard hat can prevent or reduce the severity of a head injury. Type 1 hard hats are for the general industrial trade.
Milwaukee Bolt Hard Hat |Type & Class
Milwaukee has many options when it comes to their Bolt hard hats. They offer a safety helmet, a front-brim hard hat, and a full-brim hard hat. All three of these come either vented or not. There are also. There are also types and classes when it comes to the hard hat specifications.
Hard Hat Types
There are two types of hard hat impact protection: Type I and Type II. Type I hard hats are designed to reduce the force of impact resulting from a blow that is only directed at the top of the head. This form of impact, for example, may result from a hammer or nail gun falling from above.
Type II hard hats are intended to reduce the force of lateral impact resulting from a blow that may be received off-center, from the side, or to the top of the head. This form of impact, for example, may result from contact with the sharp corner of a side beam.
Electrical Classes
According to ANSI standards, hard hat electrical performance is divided into three categories: Class E, Electrical; Class G, General, and; Class C, Conductive.
Class E (Electrical) Hard hats are designed to reduce exposure to high voltage conductors and offer dielectric protection up to 20,000 volts phase to ground. A hard hat is used by utility workers who are commonly exposed to high-voltage conductors.
Class G (General) Hard Hats are designed to reduce exposure to low-voltage conductors and offer dielectric protection up to 2,200 volts (phase to ground). Example of a Class G hard hat commonly worn by iron workers who require a certain degree of dielectric protection.
Class C (Conductive) Hard Hats differ from their counterparts in that they are not intended to provide protection against contact with electrical conductors. Class C hard hats may include vented options, which not only protect the wearer from impact but also provide increased breathability and ventilation.

Essential PPE for chainsaw operation includes a hard hat, eye, and hearing protection. The possibility of injury is so great that even those assisting the chainsaw operator should wear the fully recommended protective equipment. The hard hat protects the head from falling debris, such as limbs and branches, and from injury due to hits against low-hanging objects. The eye protection keeps dangerous wood chippings and foreign objects away from your eyes and the hearing protection keeps the high-decibel noise to a dull roar.
