Little Giant Ladder 5-Feet to 8-Feet Duty Rating Adjustable Step Ladder Type 1A, 300-Round Rated, Model 15125-001

When it comes to safety on a ladder the folks at Little Giant Ladder Systems never fail to deliver.  They recently sent me their Little Giant adjustable heavy duty select step ladder model # 15125-001 to use and evaluate.

First Impression:

When I opened the carton the first thing I thought of was “a step ladder on steroids minus the weight!”   The Little Giant adjustable heavy duty select step ladder is beefy looking and loaded with innovative safety features.

When looking at and comparing the Little Giant ladder to other step ladders I noticed that it has a much wider base for stability as well as extra deep rungs which provide a comfortable standing platform.

An add on safety handle accessory also gives the ladder user a nice hand rail to hold onto and to increase user stability when working.

This ladder even has heavy duty wheels to help easily and quickly transport the ladder.   I know what your thinking; wheels on a ladder sounds unsafe right?    I agree, but Little Giant pulled it off and did it in a safe and pragmatic way.  The wheel feature is very nice and very useful.

The best part of the Little Giant adjustable heavy duty select step ladder is that it is adjustable, light weight and is type 1A rated  [300 pounds] for professional use.

The ladder easily and quickly adjusts from a 5 foot ladder to an 8 foot ladder and all of the measurements in between!

I’m still amazed at how well this ladder is built.  It’s type 1A rating is for professional use but it has the weight of one of those cheap aluminum step ladder that would be banned at the job-site!  I was impressed.

Using the Little Giant Adjustable Heavy Duty Select Step Ladder:

We brought the Little Giant adjustable heavy duty step ladder to the job-site to see how it fared.   Most of the guys that used it immediately commented on how light this 37.9 pound ladder was when compared to an 8 foot conventional step ladder.   they also noticed that the ladder was more stable – due to the flaring of the feet.

The Little Giant adjustable heavy duty select step ladder was easy to adjust, expand or collapse that I am considering replacing my two different size step ladders for this one.

Both the front and rear sections of this ladder can be adjusted independently which allow this ladder to be used on uneven surfaces such as steps.  A huge plus!!!

Built in handles called “Rock Locks” are pressed in to disengage this ladders integral locking system and re engage just a quickly to lock in a ladder height setting.   A rear handle on the ladders rear legs easily rotate to raise and lover the rear ladder section.

The Little Giant latter was a huge hit on the job-site and a favorite go to choice for step ladder applications.

To date I have found nothing negative to report on this ladder.   The only thing I noticed was that the guys never used the optional accessory called the AirDeck workstation which is both a  handrail and a tool tray.  The all commented that the standard ladder top was sufficient for most of their applications, plus they all wear tool belts and secure most of their tools in their belts.

The AirDeck  work tray does offer some options to someone who may be working off the ladder for a long period of time, “camping out,”  or not wearing a tool belt.

It allows the safe adn organized storage of a drill holder, fitted trays for stardard size paint cans, screw driver holes, slot for putty or mud knives, extension cord holder, and tool bungees to lanyard several power tools safely.

Overall Impression:

The Little Giant adjustable heavy duty select step ladder was a huge hit on the jobsite.  Not only do my guys fight over it but the electrician and plumber now want one too.

I found this ladder to be of contractor grade quality, durable and easy to use both a necessity if they are to endure job-site conditions for any length of time.

In my opinion the bests features of this ladder is the adjustment for uneven work surfaces, the weight and the wheels.
