FISH Wave Cutter Evolution Drill Bits
The folks at Affinity Tools recently sent me some of their FISH Wave Cutter Forstner Bits and twist drill bits to review and evaluate. What they were not aware of was that I already use the Wave bits – they’re awesome!
The FISH Wave Cutter Forstner Bits are pretty well known amongst woodworkers and carpenters in my neck of the woods. I’ve always found them to be outrageously sharp out of the box, and if cared for they stay sharp. The manufacturer claims that the Wave Cutter bit cuts 3.5 times faster than a standard forstner bit and can be resharpened up to 30 times
The best features of the FISH bits are their ability to cut fast, clean holes and their unique wave design removes the saw dust from the hole and prevents clogging. Being able to clear the hole of wood debris helps keep the bit cool which increases the life of the bits edge. When blades, and bits overheat they loose their sharpness.
The FISH bits are manufactured from forged and heat treated steel and was designed for the professional trade and woodworker. These bits produce the BEST results when used in a drill press but I also find myself using them on the job site in a hand held drill when a “money hole” needs to be drilled..
The Wave Cutter edge cut clean and reduce walking and leaves a clean, flat-bottomed hole.
