Diablo Demo Demon Carbide Tipped Reciprocating Blade Doubles the Speed of Cut in Nail-Embedded Wood
I recently attended the Diabo media event at the STAFDA event in Las Vegas. One of the many items that Diablo is coming out is the Diablo Demo Demon Carbide Tipped Recip Blade. a reciprocating blade with carbide? Yup!
The Diablo Demo Demon Carbide Tipped Recip Blade was designed with some innovative features that allow it to deliver double the speed of cut in nail-embedded wood.
According to Diablo these Demo Demon blades are the first carbide reciprocating blades designed for nail-embedded wood applications and deliver 10x the cutting life versus standard blades.
Diablo also claims that these newly designed blades have an improved plunge tip, optimized carbide tip bond and enhanced grinding geometry of tips for faster cutting performance.

A 1-inch wide over-sized demolition blade body helps the blade stay straighter while cutting and also reduce vibration. A non-stick aluminum alloy coating, called Perma-Shield, helps prevent overheating, gumming and corrosion on the blade,
I tested these blades in a board embedded with ten masonry nails. It cut extremely fast through this material but the likely hood of me cutting even one masonry nail is slim. I’m looking forward to doing this same test with 16 penny framing nails and galvanized nails – that’s a test I’m interested in!
