DeWalt recently announced they’ll be releasing a USB Power Source compatible with their 20V MAX and 12V MAX slide style battery packs, that has the capacity to charge up to two small USB-compatible devices like a cellphone, smart-phone, tablet, or audio device.

I love this concept! Not only because as technology increases on the job-site and more and more Project Managers, Site Leads, and Forman are using high tech tools to help them get the job done, but because these days we rely so heavily on our cell phones to communicate with our crews.

Be More Productive!

This isn’t just a nice to have, in this day and age communication is king so losing your phone to a dead battery can be the difference between a job done on time and to the appropriate specifications, and a delayed schedule or backward progress.   No longer do you have to stress about charging your phone off your crew’s power lines or leaving your phone in the car to charge. This DeWalt USB Power Source literally puts charging your critical job-site devices in your hands.

As I mentioned above this product can keep you and your crew member’s delicate electronics out of the line of fire of building materials, tools, and indiscriminate boots. The DeWalt USB Power Source keeps your power lines free for high draw corded tools and gets your expensive devices out of the way and in a safe place.

The DeWalt USB Power Source has a LED State of Charge indicator that will come on automatically after you mate your device with the battery pack, this light will turn off after 10 seconds to conserve energy and get the most charge to your device!

If you currently use DeWalt’s 20V MAX or 12V MAX cordless tools, this addition is a must have. Keeping your communications open during critical moments on the work site makes this accessory well worth the $20-30 price range. And if you are looking to get new cordless drills, in addition to the quality and durability of DeWalt products, you’ll be able to expand to this life-saver accessory.
