Checking Contractor’s References
To protect yourself, when hiring a contractor you should get into the habit of checking references. This is an essential to finding and qualifying the right person for your project.
Here are just a few questions to ask a contractors previous customers:
Did they communicate well with the re modeler?
Were they pleased with the quality of work? (I suggest asking to see the completed project since everyone has a different level of quality)
Were they satisfied with the re-modeler’s business practices?
Did the contractors crew arrive to work on time? Return phone calls timely?
Were they comfortable with the sub-contracted trades people the re-modeler used?
Was the job completed on schedule?
Did the re-modeler fulfill his or her portion of the contract?
Did the contractor stay in touch throughout the project?
Were the final details finished in a timely manner?
Would you use the remodel er again without hesitation?
Was the job site kept clean during the project?
Was the re-modeler professional, ethical, honest and fair throughout the process?
Did the re-modeler manage the overall project and process in such a way to ensure your satisfaction?
Did any issues arise during the project? How did the re-modeler handle them?
