According to Remodeling Magazine Kitchen and bath remodels rank highest as the projects that generate the most revenue for companies with revenue under $250k.  The following article is about benchmarking for small remodeling companies.

Highest Ranking Projects

The next highest-ranking projects are, in order, handyman, window and door replacement, and trim carpentry.

These three projects — none of which are included in the top five by any other revenue category — are characteristic of the smaller scope and size of jobs undertaken by these smaller remodeling companies.

Much of the data from this under–$250,000 group reflect the effects of the recession

  • Kitchen remodeling 66.2%
  • Handyman 47.7%
  • Window/door replacement 38.5%
  • Trim carpentry 29.2%
  • Whole-house remodeling 26.2%
  • Decks 21.5%
  • Additions, other 20.0%
  • Cabinets/built-ins 20.0%
  • Additions, kitchen 16.9%
