Wood Hand Screw Clamps
Using Wood Clamps As A Vise
Hand screw clamps are indispensable to many remodeling and DIY projects or when you need a quick job site vise.
Hand screw clamps to act as an extra hand in the workshop or job site. They are excellent for holding materials steady while planing or cutting and also excellent for compressing normal and non-parallel materials while waiting for glue to dry.
Hand screw clamps also have a pretty deep reach and because they are made of wood , they tend not to mar the the surface or object you are clamping. I use hand screws alot when installing cabinets mostly because they don’t mar the finished cabinets.
3 Wood Hand Screw Clamps Uses
Here are three of my favorite use for hand screw clamp for home repairs:
Bench Top Vise:
Drill Press Clamp:
I like to use wood hand screw clamps when I need a quick vise or to hold material on a remodeling project. This method is great to hold secure small pieces or metal on the drill press table.
Use the hand screw to hold the work and another hand screw or clamp to secure the first hand screw to the drill press table.
I use a smaller hand screw as a stop block on my miter saw and sometimes router table and table saw.
This is convenient when mass producing something or making repetitive cuts and multiple size pieces.
