Ladder Guard Tip Using a Pool Noodle

Here’s a quick and simple tip to help prevent scratches or dents to your gutters, truck, camper, or any structure you’re leaning a ladder against.

All you need is a pool noodle. First, cut it to the desired length. I recommend cutting the noodle to match the space between the rungs of your ladder, but you could also cut it to cover two or three rungs, depending on the area you want to protect.

Cutting The Pool Noodle

You can use a utility knife or scissors. I oprefer scissors and feel its faster and safer.Once you’ve made your cut, simply clamp the pool noodle onto the ladder. It’s that easy!

You can attach the foam padding wherever the ladder makes contact with the surface, whether it’s your gutters, a vehicle, or a building. This padding will prevent your aluminum ladder from causing any damage to whatever it’s leaning against. When you’re done, just remove the pool noodle and store it away for future use.

Tip: If you want the foam padding to stay more securely in place, you can tape or zip-tie the ends of the pool noodle to ensure it doesn’t slip off.

This simple pool noodle hack is an effective way to keep your gutters and other surfaces looking great. Happy climbing!
