The EVO joist hanger is a new and innovative product by Fastenmaster. It was designed for attaching 2×8 and 2×10 deck joists to the deck ledger in a code compliant manner.

This connector, when installed per this technical bulletin, can be used to replace traditional connectors and meet the loads called for in International Residential Code (IRC) and International Building Code (IBC). The reinforced engineered polymer used in this con

Its comprised of a two-part assembly that is injection molded from a glass-fiber-reinfiorced polymer. teh EVO joist hanger comes in teo sizers 2×8 and 2×10

The EVO comes with proprietary self drilling coated screws that are 5 -inches ling with 2-inches of thread. They screws are used to secure the joist and EVO to the ledger board. Thesecrews come with a 11.6 mm HEX head and 6.6 mm shank

The EVO has a top flange that is used for alignment which can  be removed after structural screws are installed with no impact on the above spans or loads. If bottom flange is cut or damaged, the connector must be replaced with new connector.

The FastenMaster EVO Joist to Ledger Deck Framing Connector is a faster, easier, code-compliant method for attaching 2×8 or 2×10 pressure treated deck joists to a ledger board.

This connector exceeds the strength and corrosion requirements for exterior connectors including exposure to extreme environments.

Corrosion Resistance:

The fasteners in the EVO System have been tested and approved for use in treated wood (ACQ/CAB) subject to wet use undeICC-ES Criteria AC257 and found to exceed the corrosion-resistant protection offered by hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) coatings approved by code. In addition to meeting the load requirements for supporting deck joists under ICC- ES Criteria AC13, the polymers used to manufacture the EVO connectors have been tested and approved for long-term exposure to UV, thermal extremes and chemicals used in exterior deck environments.
