Bosch 23 Gauge Pin Nailer

Bosch 23 Gauge Pneumatic Pin Nailer, FNS 138

I recently attended the 2012 Bosch media event and got a sneak peak at the NEW Bosch 23 Guage Pin Nailer.

Woodworkers and finish carpenters alike have alot to be excited about.   The  Bosch 23 Gauge Pin Nailer has some really nice features  and at  a price point of $ 159.00 it’s competitively priced.  I really liked that this pin nailer left such a low profile mark on the material I tested it on.

Many woodworkers and finish carpenters use a pin nailer in place of clamps, especially when gluing up small delicate parts.  Pinning also accomplishes this with nearly invisible holes, and the super small pins tend not to split the delicate moldings like a finish nail will.  For this reason many finish carpenter will use a pinner in molding returns or and cabinet installers love them on finished kitchen cabinet moldings and parts.

The Bosch 23 Gauge Pin Nailer:

According to Bosch the pinner is 10% more power than similar competitors and a nail lockout [dry fire] feature that activates after the last pin is used.    That’s a nice feature – no more small clips of pins falling out every time you open the magazine to reload.  The magazine accommodates two full clips of 1 inch to 1-3/8 inch pin nails.

The Bosch FNS138-23 Pin Nailer has a movable exhaust port for redirecting air away from your face or a delicate work surfaces and operates at 660 to 100 psi.
