DEWALT ToughSystem Tool Storage

By Robert Robillard on Tool Reviews

DEWALT ToughSystem Follow Up After 4 Months:

About three or four months ago the folks at DEWALT recently sent me one of their ToughSystem to try out.   The box has an integrated seal for water protection but DEWALT stops short of calling it waterproof.

Not really needing another toolbox I decided to designate this box to the rear of my open bed pick up truck.   I plow driveways in the winter and have always carried the necessary tools to repair my plow inside my truck cab.  I hated having a tool box in the cab so I decided I’d see how well the DEWALT ToughSystem tool box fared.

I left my ToughSystem Outside For 4 Months – What Happened To My tools?

Several months later after being exposed to some harsh Northeast weather I opened the DEWALT ToughSystem tool storage box to discover my tools dry and rust free – impressive!  I would put this box on par with a Pelican case.

The DEWALT ToughSystem tool storage box is constructed of four-millimeter structural foam, three stand alone units make-up the TOUGHSYSTEM.

The DWST08201 is what I have and is a large tool case with carry handle that fits both power tools and accessories. The unit is designed to hold an entire set of tools.

The DWST08204 provides removable vertical storage for easy access and organization.

The DWST08203 comes equipped with a deep removable tray which is designed to fit a cordless tool battery and charger.

The three storage cases are stack-able, connected by their side latches, enabling a contractor to lift two or three cases at once. Each of the units is also furnished with an integrated water seal for tool and material protection from rain or  snow.

For trouble-free transportation around the job-site, the DWST08201 L-cart carrier assists professionals in moving heavy materials and storage cases. The carrier can handle materials up to 260 lbs. and features adjustable, fold-able brackets for tailored configuration. Contractors can even work directly from the carrier, without having to detach all storage units.

The storage options are sold separately and expected to retail for the following prices:

  • DWST08201: $49.99
  • DWST08203: $59.99
  • DWST08204: $69.99
  • DWST08210: $189.99
