The Cambium Jacket Is Job-Site Tough

Arborwear Cambium Jacket

The folks at Arborwear recently sent me their Cambium canvas jacket to evaluate and report on.  I immediately chuckled at the name of the jacket.  Having taken an arborist course in my earlier years I was familiar with the term cambium.  A tree’s cambium is the layer of living cells lying between the wood and bark where new bark and wood cells originate.

The Cambium jacket protects you like tree bark protects a tree!

Arborwear made the Cambium jacket with 10oz soft shell, cotton canvas and polyester fleece to get a durabile lightweight jacket.  Stretch underarm gussets allow for unrestricted movement.  Four zippered pockets are provided:  two upper pockets and two lower hand pockets.

I really like the left bicep pocket that is located up high and is the perfect spot to hold and protect my cellphone.   I can’t tell you how many cellphones I’ve damaged by having them in my pant pocket or tool belt.

The Cambium jacket also has  a  Teflon® coating for oil and water resistance.   I haven’t gotten a chance to test that out yet.

When working in the cold outdoors I always dress in layers for comfort.  I like that the cambium jacket is not bulky and it allows me the mobility that a job-site demands.    The breath-ability of this jacket is amazing and the durability of the outer shell is impressive.  The Cambium jacket is yet one more addition to Arborwear’s already impressive array of durable, functioning clothing.

The Cambium jacket comes in three colors:  black, chesnut and maple and retials for approx $ 119.00, although I found it cheaper online.
