Start Your Project In The Least Conspicuous Spot
As a new carpenter we often joked that it was nice to “learn as you earn” and “by the time we’re done with this we’ll be a pro – but probably won’t do this for another five years and have to start from scratch again.
“When doing DIY projects at home for the first time start your project in an area that is out of sight like a closet or alcove. By the time you get into the main room you’ve honed your skills, worked out the guess work and now have a handle on the project.
