ROCKLER Sure-Foot F-Style Clamps

Rockler Woodworking Clamps:

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware recently came out with an upgraded F-Style woodworking clamp.  It’s called the ROCKLER Sure-Foot F-Style Clamp, this new clamp is impressive!

First Impression:

One thing that is immediately noticeable it the beefy  construction of this clamp.  there is nothing flimsy about the shaft or the clamping frames.

A no-tip base and spinning, no mar, large surface tip allow for less than perfect clamping positions, which we all know is a reality.  the handle is over sized and has a nice ergonomic feel to it.
Using the Sure-Foot™ F-Style Clamp:

I clamped the Sure-Foot™ F-Style Clamp down on some 2×4 stock ad tightened it as hard as I could to see if they would bend wood clampor deflect – I was impressed. The rigid Zinc-plated steel bar is beefy and did not bend or deflect under the extreme clamping.  The clamps quick-release clutch allowed me to get a tight, no-slip but I was also able to easily loosen and adjust the clamp as needed.

One thing I noticed in the shop was the threads connecting the adjustment knob.  They are rugged, deep and well defined. Many times clamps get glue, paint and other material debris in the threads, making them difficult to turn.  These aggressive threads will not be easily clogged with that debris.

I used the clamps to glue up some 1x nosing on some birch plywood shelves in the shop.  The clamps feel well made and adjust with precision.  I also used them to hold down some angle iron when drilling on my drill press.  They have impressive clamping pressure and worked well.  One nice feature of the no-tip stability of the Sure-Foot base allowed me to stand these clamps up on the bench, leaving two hands free for easy positioning and clamping.

Overall Impression:

I enjoyed testing the Sure-Foot™ F-Style Clamp. Rockler did their homework and designed a rugged, well made, comfortable and easily adjustable clamp that will no doubt provide dozens of years of service in any shop.   When wood clampcompared to the other F-Style clamps I have in my shop the Sure-Foot™ blows them away.
