Replacing A Heating System

New Furnace and Boiler Buying Tips

If you live in the North or a cold climate you most likely spend two-thirds of the time heating.
Furnaces typically last 15 to 20 years but after 10-12 years they are inefficient.

When considering replacing a heating system, furnace or boiler,  it’s important not to look just at the purchase price but to consider the new furnace or boilers operating costs over the life [10-12 years] of the unit.

When weighing the costs and benefits of repairing or replacing older equipment with more efficient HVAC equipment, keep the following points in mind.

Considerations When Replacing A Heating System

1. Fuel costs tend to go up more than down over the years.

2. The monthly savings continue after you reach the “break even” or “pay back” period on the new equipment.

3.  The new equipment may be better for the environment by being more efficient and burning less fuel.

4.  The new may be quieter.

5.  Less repair costs.

6.  work better, more comfort.

7.  Newer equipment is more reliable, often brought up to code [i.e., shutoffs and carbon monoxide detectors] and is safer in long run.
