When doing your own wiring on a remodel plan to install light switches so you can pass through a room on one end turning on the light and then be able to switch off the light as you leave the room on the other end.
If you planning on installing wainscoting plan on installing the switch above the chair rail height.
Think of how the doors will swing before placing a light switch. Don’t wire a switch in a spot that will be covered by the door as it swings open.
