Paslosde Self-Sealing Nail Improves Moisture Management On Stucco Walls
Paslode has made another major advancement in the design and performance of a residential building fastener. Their new Paslode Self-Sealing Furring Nail for three-coat stucco exterior speeds up the installation process and seals watertight to help prevent water leaks, resulting in increased productivity and fewer call backs due to water seepage.
In the past kepping water from penetrating the building envelopw was extremely difficult and time intensive. It involved returning to every roofing nail and sealing it wth special sealant. When you consider your caulking 3,000 to 8, 000 nails, how often do you think that was done correctly????
Stucco wire lath installation requires that furring nails are installed every six inches along exterior wall. When installed the roofing nails penetrate the weather resistive barrier.
The Paslode Self-Sealing Furring Nail removes the labourus step of caulking and ensures a tight install of lath and a moisture seal, all in one step. The nail compresses to provide a watertight seal. The seal reduces the need for caulking and the bright colored washer speeds up necessary inspections.
The fastener has a flexible, orange-colored rubber washer, which, when driven into the wall stud to secure the wire lath, The nails are 11 gauge nail, electro-galvanized 1-3/4” long with a 7/16” head and comes 5,000 to a box.
This nail also has a large anti-slip head. The size and unique design on the nail head greatly reduces hammer slippage and unnecessary tears in the weather resistive tar paper.
