Nexabond 2500 Instant Wood Adhesive

Nexabond 2500 wood Adhesive By Bioformix, Inc.Nexabond 2500 Instant Wood Adhesive

The folks at Bioformix, Inc recently sent me over a sample bottle of their Nexabond 2500 Instant Wood Adhesive.    According to the press release this new glue dramatically reduces  assembly time and finishing issues surrounding adhesives, I tend to agree.

Nexabond 2500 has a unique water and solvent free chemistry that allows the ability to glue oily woods, does not need clamping and accepts most stains and finishes.  It also bonds to other materials such as leather, paper, composites, plastics, ceramics, metal or glass.

Nexabond 2500 works the same in any humidity, and is fully cured in eight hours.

How Did It Work?

We took the Nexabond 2500 into the shop and glued up a bunch of different materials.  I must admit it has most of the same ingredients and smells alot like superglue so I tested it agains Gorilla Glue super glue.

Both glues performed similarly except during the wood glue ups.  The Nexabond 2500 is a clear glue and seemed to hold better immediately without clamps.  This is something that you will not be able to do with water based wood glues, which usually takes 24 hours to achieve full strength and requires clamping.

As far as not clamping I’m not 100% sold.  If you’re joints are super tight yes you can forgo the clamps.  If the joint is not as tight I recommend clamping.  I’d say the more accurate statement would be that Nexabond 2500 reduces the need for clamps.

Here Is What We Found:

  1. Dries super strong, has a high tensile sheer strength
  2. Dries fast
  3. Goes on and dries clear
  4. Reduces clamping
  5. Sand and finish in minutes
  6. Dramatically reduce squeeze out
  7. Accepts most stains and finishes
