Milwaukee Compact 5/8” SDS Plus Hammer Drill

Milwaukee 5/8” SDS Plus Hammer Drill Model 5263-21  REVIEW

As I get older I’m finding myself talking the time to make jigs, buy tools or use two wheelers or a helper anytime I can.  Why?   I’m on the quest to find “the easier way.”

You know, the way that doesn’t beat your body up and leave you exhausted at the end of the day way! Hell, I even started wearing knee pads when working low and on my knees – YUP ~ I’m getting old!

On the path to my quest I came across a little red tool that almost looks like a toy buts it’s not, in fact pound for pound it’s tough, strong and packs a huge punch considering it weighs only  4.6 pounds.  [that’s not a typo!]

It’s the Milwaukee 5/8” SDS Plus Rotary Hammer, and it’s touted to be the the lightest and most compact tool in its class.  With its light weight and 10.9″ length this hammer drill is just the tool you need overhead and tight quarter drilling applications.

Watch My Video Tool Review:

Milwaukee Group Product Manager Rick Gambaccini told me that the  Milwaukee Compact 5/8” SDS Plus Hammer Drill is 40% lighter than competitive units.

The hammer has an innovative gear design and a drop motor to provide unmatched balance, and allow it to be so compact.

Once I tried this hammer I was smitten – recently I acquired one and will turn it loose on the job-site to see how well it endures.

In the meantime rest assured that at $187.00 this tool will pay for itself on the first big overhead drilling job you have!
