Milwaukee BIG HAWG Hole Saw Kit

Milwaukee BIG HAWG Hole Saw Kit w/ Packout 49-56-9295

I’m always struggling with being more organized, which leads to being more efficient. This article is not a tool review but a story of how I reduced clutter, weight, and increased space in my tool trailer by using the Milwaukee BIG HAWG Hole Saw Kit.

Re-thinking Hole Saw Kits

I recently decided to get rid of my 15 years of accumulated hole saw kit and slim down into a dedicated smaller kit. I chose the Milwaukee 9 PC BIG HAWG w/ Carbide Teeth Hole Saw Kit w/ PACKOUT Compact organizer, model number 49-56-9295 because they have a great reputation for durability and aggressive cutting.

Hole Saw Carbide Teeth

Carbide teeth hole saws provide way better life and durability in both nail-embedded wood and abrasive material applications. The new BIG HAWG with Carbide Teeth an aggressive drilling option for demanding applications and outlast the bi-metal hole saws bigtime!

Milwaukee says that this bit lasts 50 times longer but if it lasts 25 times longer, I’ll be way ahead of the game. I’ve had past experience with some Bosch and Diablo carbide hole saws and truly feel that carbide is  a far superior way to cut holes.

The BIGHAWG hole saws also have 3 deep slots that allow you to remove plugs fast. The kit comes with an old-school arbor and 3 center bits.  [one multi-material bit and two aggressive wood bits]

Improvement

I’d really like to see Milwaukee innovate the old-school arbor and make it into a quick-connect coupling. Other than that this kit is a winner.

More Organized

This kit will make me more organized and take up less space in my trailer – that’s a win!
