Making Repetitive Cuts On A Miter Saw

Miter Saw Tip

There are many instances where you may need to cut several pieces of wood the exact same size. Deck balusters and rafters immediately come to mind.

The best way for making repetitive cuts on a miter saw is to use a “stop block.” Below I am using a simple block of wood clamped to my chop saw table as a stop block.

Using a stop block eliminates the errors in using a measuring tape and marking each board which always result in inconsistent board length cuts.

Making Repetitive Cuts On A Miter Saw Procedure:

Lower and lock the blade down. Butting the tape into the blade, measure the distance of the repetitive cut piece you need to cut, mark it and then install a block either with screws or clamp.

Once done, raise the blade, cut a test piece to ensure accuracy, once accuracy is verified ~ cut away.
