Installing A New Fireplace Mantel

Reworking a Gas Fireplace and Mantel

Friday the Limestone hearth and surround was installed around the fireplace.   Today we had planned on installing a new fireplace mantel.  This [photo below] is what I saw when I walked in this morning.

The painter will finish up this room tomorrow.

Premier Mantels:  Algonquin Style

The Algonquin Mantle was installed first.

We installed solid wood backing between the fireplace wall studs to accommodate the fastening and proper securing of the TV mount.

Close up of the flat screen wall mount and utility hookups.   We had the electrician wire in a power supple and cables needed for the TV.  Cables on the left include RG-6 cable wire and an HDMI cable.

Algonquin mantle shown  installed.  we ted in the mantel to the rest of the rooms baseboard and chair rail trim.

The Limestone hearth and surround were a perfect match with the Oak hardwood flooring.  The seams were nice and tight which is always the goal on an installation like this.

Centered photo – I should have turned on the fireplace for this picture. T.V. will go on after painting is completed.

Photo of entrance and also adjoining dining room area. [columns on right] The hole in the wall was the former location of the video security phone for the front door. There will be a couch pushed against this wall so we moved the phone to the far left, near column.

Dining room columns and wainscoting that we did in earlier post.

I love this angle and this window! Looking out of dining room and into living room.  TV and mantel on left side of photo.

Photo looking in from front door.

Photo from kitchen door. Cable and HDMI hookups seen in lower left. This was a fun project and a really great location, I’m gonna miss it!
