HOSELINK Retractable Garden Hose Reel

HOSELINK Retractable Garden Hose Reel Review

I’ve been a homeowner for 33 years and for 32 of them I’ve struggled with garden hoses and nozzles. A good garden hose is not cheap, but then what do you do with it when not in use. For example, do you hang it on a rack or roll it up and leave it on the ground?

HOSELINK Retractable Garden Hose Reel | First Impressions

This past year a neighbor, who shared similar frustrations with hoses, showed me their new HOSELINK Retractable Garden Hose Reel. To be honest I was unimpressed at first glance as it looked like another gimmicky hose reel that never works right. Man was I wrong. The first time I pulled out and retracted the hose, I could immediately feel the quality of the unit. I must have pulled out and retracted that hose a dozen times before saying, “I’m getting one of these!”

HOSELINK Specifications

HOSELINK Retractable Garden Hose Reel | Installation

The HOSELINK Retractable Garden Hose Reel is designed to be wall mounted. It is also designed to be detachable from its mounting plate. Living in the Northeast, this will make it easy to remove it and bring it indoors in the winter.

The mounting plate has four mounting holes and comes with 4 lag bolts and concrete anchor sleeves. I mounted my unit low to the ground for easy access and for lower visibility.

I ended up using two HeadLok structural screws in the top holes, predrilling and installing them into my house’s 4″x6″ continuous foundation, sill plate. It’s solid as a rock!

Using the HOSLINK Retractable Garden Hose Reel

This is one of those items that you must use to believe it. The hose reel or holder swivels left and right giving you a full 180 degrees of maneuverability. When using the hose, you simply pull it out of the holder and it will lock it into position once you stop pulling. To retract and return the hose to the wall-mounted reel you simply give it a tug and guide the hose back. The holder automatically winds the hose preventing it from kinking or tangling.

Hoselink uses a bayonet-style accessory connection, tested to withstand water pressure of up to 500psi without failure.

The spray head on the HOSELINK comes with a quick disconnect nozzle which is easy to use and intuitive. The spray head nozzle has a dozen different entering options from stream to mist and everything in between. You can also discard the quick connect option and use standard screw-on nozzles if desired.

HOSELINK Accessories

HOSELINK also offers a ton of accessories from a weatherproof cover, padlock, quick disconnect attachments, watering kits, cutting tools, gardening equipment, home accessories, cleaning gear, and soaker hoses. So far, all I’ve tried is the hose, and real and love it.

Final thoughts on the HOSELINK Retractable Garden Hose Reel

Prior to getting the hose link, I had several configurations of hoses cobbled together at different locations of my house to make watering and putting the hose away easier, and less cumbersome. I did this because I wanted to avoid having to deal with rolling up long lengths of hoses but the end result wa a bunch of rolled hoses, lying on the ground everywhere.

After I installing the 82-foot HOSELINLK I was able to reach all of these areas and no longer had to deal with rolling the hoses back up. This allowed me to eliminate three hose locations.

The HOSELINK Retractable Garden Hose Reel is working out so well that my wife now wants one for the other side of the house. My issue is I don’t have a spot to mount it on the hose so I may have to set a 4×4 post in the ground and mount it to the post – to be determined.

Highly recommended.
