Reduce Wood-shop Sanding Dust

Using a HEPA vacuum connected to your sanding tools can significantly reduce the harmful dust.
Many woodworking shops have dust collectors that are connected to all major woodworking tools in the shop to collect sawdust but its the real fine dust, the airborne dust from sanders that cause the most lung damage.
Many PROs and DIYers have limited space and tools in their shops and often neglect the importance to capture the airborne dust.
The simple solution is to hook up your sander to a dust collection system or a dust extraction vacuum. I prefer using the DEWALT D27905 10 Gallon Dust Extracting Vacuum in my shop.
I like the DEWALT D27905 Dust Extractor Vacuum for several reasons.In my opinion it’s a perfect vacuum for woodworking, concrete and drywall power tools. The best component to this tool is the power tool actuation which turn on the vacuum when you turn on your sander and keep the vacuum on 15 seconds after the sander is turned off.
This allows the vacuum to clear the hose of dust. Able to filter 3 microns @ 99.97% efficiency when equipped with a HEPA filter which means you can sand all day with out a dust mask.
When choosing a vacuum make sure you pay attention to the length of the power cord, hose and the casters. You want to be able to move around your shop as needed for sanding operations.
Another pointer is to make sure the vacuum is able to be easily moved if needed. My DEWALT vacuum weighs only 29 pounds and has reinforced casters that easily allow the tool to be moved around my shop.
