Dewalt Precision Trim Saw Blades

DEWALT Precision Trim Blades For Finish Carpentry

DEWALT expanded their line of Precision Saw Blades with the introduction of the new Dewalt Precision Trim Saw Blades. The redesigned blades are ideal for trim carpenters cutting moldings, staircases, cabinets, windows, flooring, hand railings, as well as additional crosscutting and ripping applications in premium materials.

There is nothing more frustrating or disappointing then ripping or cross cutting a nice piece of trim and having splinters. . .  when I see that it’s time to change the blade!

Using the Dewalt Precision Trim Saw Blades:

Dewalt recently sent me some  blades to test.  I’ve been using the Dewalt Precision Trim Saw Blades for several weeks on Maple trim with a clear finish and have found them to deliver accurate and smooth cuts with minimal splintering.  When doing fussy trim work like this you need more than a good blade you need a great blade that exceed expectations on every cut!

The Dewalt Precision Trim Saw are designed with a thin kerf, laser-cut and a hardened steel plate which allows for fast, smooth cutting.  Laser-cut expansion slots and exclusive body slots help to dampen vibration of the blade.   These blades also have  C4 grade carbide tips with two times more carbide to allow for multiple re-sharpening.  A CNC sharpening process ensures consistent, reliable sharp teeth and an optimized tooth grind that easily cuts through material without splintering.

The Dewalt Precision Trim Saw Blades are also protected with an exclusive Tough Coat™ saw blade anti-stick coating to reduce heat and friction.

Are The Worth It?

Out of seventy five or so cuts I made during one of the testing days I only had one cut that had minimal splintering and I attributed that to movement of the work piece or operator error.  We continued to uset hese blades for the duration of this three week project and were impressed.

The Dewalt Precision Trim Saw Blades exceeded our expectations and are compatable to other high end blades.

The Precision Trim blades  are offered in 8 ½”, 10” and 12” diameters and a variety of tooth counts.
