DEWALT HEPA Vacuum DWV012

DEWALT HEPA Filter Dust Extractor Vacuum and Universal Connector System

I’ve been using DEWALT HEPA vacuums for sometime now.  I have one for the job-site and one dedicated to my miter saw in my shop.

DEWALT HEPA Vacuum DWV012

The DEWALT HEPA Vacuum DWV012 was designed specifically to capture  the worst types of dust:  drywall sanding, concrete grinding, cutting and drilling dust.

As a contractor, not only does it make complete business sense from a dust clean up or property damage position but also for health reasons.   By decreasing the potential for inhaling dangerous dust particles, you can protect your lungs.

The DEWALT HEPA Vacuum DWV012 meets the EPA Lead Related Renovations, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule for HEPA vacuums when used with DWV9320 HEPA filters (included with the vacuum). The DWV012 has built-in, continious self-cleaning filter system , which means that every 30 seconds one of the two filters is back-flushed with air to remove dust to provide suction until the tank is full.

This self-cleaning system makes a “thumping” sound which is caused when a solenoid closes a butterfly valve and reverses the air flow thru the filter.  This action blows the fine dust off the filter keeping it clean and then reopens the vale.  The self-cleaning function occurs for each filter on 30 seconds intervals. lter

Note – The HEPA filters on the DWV012 should be replaced every 6 months under normal applications.  When used with collection bags the filter longevity can be extended.

Tool Activation Is Important:

The DEWALT HEPA Vacuum DWV012 includes a tool activation setting that turns on the Dust Extractor Vacuum whenever the user starts the connected tool, and allows it to run an additional 15 seconds after the tool is turned off to clear the hose.

The DWV012 has a variable speed switch to set the amount of suction and determine the amp draw to avoid blowing electrical breakers

Other Features:

The DWV012  has large front castors and large rear wheels which allow the Vac to be easily pulled by the hose.   The hose end connection that connects to dust ports and tool ports has a twist lock that holds securely and allows rotation without twisting the hose.

Included with the vacuum is the DWV9000 universal connector [$ 19.99] which I used to connect to all of my sanders and grinder.

Universal Connector System features nine individual adaptors that work with many of the grinding, drilling, chipping and demolition power tools currently on the market.
