DeWalt 20V MAX Lithium Ion Cordless Jigsaw DCS331L1
The folks at DEWALT recently sent me their DeWalt 20V MAX Lithium Ion Jigsaw to test and review. DEWALT has really built up their 20 volt MAX platform and have sharpened their pencils on three major categories:
1. Performance: focusing on speed of application and run time.
With the DeWalt 20V MAX Lithium Ion Jigsaw it is the little features that make the difference. Probably the two biggest features of this jigsaw that impressed me was the 3.0 amp hour lithium ion battery which really makes a difference with longevity and power and the top handle design.
2. Ergonomics: designing with fit and feel, while remaining a productive tool.
The top handle, over molded grip has a slight angle which allows for a secure and comfortable grip at the perfect angle. all of the adjustments are easuly operated and reached.
3. Productivity Enhancing Features: Improving an already good design and tool free adjustments.
The DCS331L1 has variable speed trigger that allows the saw to be operated from 0 to 3,000 strokes per minute. [SPM] The front of this tool has an all-metal lever action key-less blade change that just screams of quality craftsmanship and mechanical design. This key-less blade change allows for a quick and efficient way to switch between blades and applications.
Note: The blade is not ejected when the keyless blade change lever is activated. When changing “hot” blades if you do not want to burn your fingers you ‘ll need to make sure the blade is in the downward position so it can fall out of the tool.
A four speed switch allows the jigsaw versatility when cutting different materials.

The DeWalt 20V MAX Lithium Ion Jigsaw weighs only 6.8 pounds, has a 1″ saw stroke, all tool less adjustments as well as the saw dust blower can easily be adjusted.
The all-metal keyless shoe bevel has detents at 0°, 15°, 30° and 45° whish are some of the more popular bevel angles. A four position orbital action control provides versatility for different cutting applications and materials.

Using the DeWalt 20V MAX Lithium Ion Jigsaw :
This saws 1″ stroke and 3.0A lithium-ion battery was super powerful, cut through all types of material and I was amazed at how long the battery lasted. The fuel gauge on the rear of the battery helps you determine where your at for charge which is a nice feature.
The saw made accurate cuts and curves and never bogged down. I did not like the anti-splinter insert and challenge DEWALT to find a better alternative to the flimsy plastic insert.
Overall this is a really impressive tool and an improvement over earlier models. It is going to change the way contractors look at cordless jigsaws on the job-site.
