Clean Saw Cuts in Plywood
When using nice plywood like birch or maple plywood to make bookcases, boxes or any casework project you always want to avoid the saw blade from tearing out the edges of your wood.
A zero clearance plate on your table saw helps but here is an easy and quick tip you can use on a saw without a zero clearance plate.
Steps to Cutting Plywood Without Chipping:
1. Raise blade just high enough to score through the thin veneer.
By just scoring the plywood the blades teeth do not tear through the wood and cause tear out, chipping or splintering.
2. After scoring the board, raise the blade and make the final cut for a clean, smooth edge.
