Bostitch DA1564 Finish Nailer

Bostitch Finish Nailer DA1564 One Of A Kind!

Recently while attending the Stanley Bostitch tool event in New York I  learned about and had the opportunity to handle and innovative new finish nailer design.

This new finish nailer design has some innovative features that no other nailer has.

This nailer is tested and rated for 3 foot drops on concrete and an 8 foot drop on plywood. Other tests that Bostitch perform on the nailer are dry fire tests, wet fire tests and drag tests.

I learned a little how they test these tools and it is amazing how the lab engineers design machines to torture these tools!  Very cool stuff and fun to see.   I’m hoping Bostitch will allow me to do an article on a testing machine so I can share it with you.

Below I briefly list some of this nailers features.

Bostitch DA1564 Features:

Nose Blower:  the nailers blower is at the nose or work end of the tool which removes any saw dust in the way for better visibility.

LED Light:   Yes I said LED light!  A switch on top of the nailer turns on a Bostitch colored [yellow] light to illuminate dark nailing areas.

16 Inch On Center Gauge:   A fold out gauge allows you perfect 16″ oc spacing when fastening.

Dial Depth:  This dial depth was easy to use and accurate.

Tool Free Jamb Release:  this is a real nice feature.   A lever at the top of the nailer allows for quick and easy nail jamb releases.

Over-mold Grip:    Super comfortable grip.

Swivel Free Hose Connector:  All finish nailers should have a swivel free connection for the hose.  This one looks durable and will hopefully be nice than the ones I’ve used in the past.

Non-Mar Tips:    The most popular tips come in the box that allow you to easily use this nailer for many applications to include hardwood flooring or tongue and groove material., a tip or cove molding, concave and quarter inch offset

Selectable Trigger Switch: Easily switches from contact to sequential mode

Belt Hook:   When belt hooks first came out I use to take them off – now I love them!

Built In Pencil Sharpener:  the lower end of the magazine has a #2 pencil sharpener!

Last Nail Magnet:  This is HUGE! One of the main reasons nailers fail or jamb is when it reaches that last nail.  A built in magnet keeps the nail in line and ready to fire.

Oil Free Design:  This nailer is oil free but will not be damaged if oil is put into it.  Bostitch rear exhaust vents the oil out the rear of the tool.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking a look at the video interview with Robert Pare’,  Bostitch Global Product Manager, to really get the skinny on this nailer!
