BOSTITCH 18 Volt Drill And Impact Driver

New BOSTITCH Cordless Products 18 Volt Drill and Driver Kit BTC440LB

BOSTITCH tools and fasteners have been a staple in my construction career and many others guys as well.  Recently BOSTITCH added to this already seller reputation a new line of professional tools.  These tools corded and cordless are touted to be rugged, durable, and affordable.  Most of the new line is corded tools so we decided to focus on the two cordless tools;  the 18 volt lithium-ion 1/2 – inch drill and driver kit.

First Impression:

The BOSTITCH cordless tools are a no-frills, solid cordless drill and driver set.   My first impression was that they appeared rugged, durable and the price tad is certainly affordable.   My guess is that BOSTITCH  designed and marketed these tools to fill a void in the mid-range, entry level tool platform for a professional contractor.  In my neck of the woord, this mid-range pro tool platform is an area mostly owned and certainly enjoyed by RIDGID tools.

Video Review:

18 Volt Lithium-ion 1/2-Inch Drill and Impact Driver Kit (BTC400LB)

The drill features a 2-speed high torque/high speed gear box (0-350/0-1500 RPM) and a 1/2 inch key-less metal locking chuck  A variable speed trigger and 24 position clutch helps the user to dial in fastening to reduce stripping of fasteners. At 3.7 pounds the BOSTITCH drill is not the lightest in it’s class but it is certainly light enough, super rugged, compact and comfortable to use.   The drill body  measures approximately eight inches long. An L.E.D. work-light illuminates dark work areas and I really appreciated  how comfortable the grip handles were on these tools.

BOSTITCH 18 Volt  1/4 – Inch Impact Driver (BTC440LB)

At 3.4 pounds the BOSTITCH impact driver is lightweight and compact.  It measures only 6-3/4 inches long and is super comfortable to operate. A  variable speed trigger provides 0-2800 revolutions-per-minute (RPM) and this impact tool enjoys 0-3100 beats-per-minute (BPM). The high torque motor delivers 1400 inch-pounds. We really appreciated that BOSTITCH included a quick-release 1/4 inch metal hex chuck that allows the bit to be inserted on handed and provides quick and easy bit changes.  The  L.E.D. work-light illuminates well.

Using the BOSTITCH Cordless Tools and Overall Impression

Like I mentioned earlier these tools are rugged, durable and are affordable.   They are a mid-range option for a contractor looking to get into the trades and “tool-up” or for a specialty contractor that occasionally needs a drill and driver but not a “Cadillac version.” Both tools have plenty of power to qualify as pro grade tools.
