Milwaukee Hand Tools

Milwaukee Hand Tools

This Summer while at Milwaukee’s media event I got a sneak preview of of the new Milwaukee Hand Tools line up – up till now these tools were “Embargoed” and I was unable to share any information with you.

This is Milwaukee’s second round of hand-tools and in my opinion they did a real nice job.  The hand tool focus is targeting professionals;  Electricians, HVAC, Plumbers, Mechanical and Repair professionals.

These tools will no doubt compete with Channellock and Klein tools.   I can tell you that there was alot of thought and design put into these tools.  The innovative designs of some of these hand tools eliminate the need to carry other tool altogether.

For example;  the new Milwaukee 6 in 1 Combination Wire Pliers.  The 6 in 1 pliers feature a brand new design that incorporates all functions of long nose pliers, wire strippers, and reaming/deburring tool.    That alone replaced three tools in your tool bag!  Milwaukee calls this approach  ” Disruptive Innovation.”

Basically, the theory of disruptive innovation starts with developing a basic process, in this case an improved tool.   The end result is that this improved tool will disrupt the competitors in the market by establishing a new generation of customers, who find the innovative tool more productive, beneficial or less cost than the existing product of the competitor in the market.  When done properly, disruptive innovation has resulted in being beneficial for both customers as well as business.

These new tools should be available in October.  Click here for a link to the hand tool site.
