Change Your Electrical Plates With Colored Plates!

New line of electrical devices allows homeowners to change out colorful faces in a snap

Anytime I have remodeled a space I always struggle with getting the light switches and outlet plates to blend into their surroundings.  I’ve added wall paper to them as well as painted Leviton’s Renu Colored Electrical Devicesinted them.  all of that takes time and materials with an end result that does not always hold up well to the test of time.

While at the 2011 IBS show I came across an inexpensive and unique solution to this problem at the Leviton booth.   Now do-it-yourself decorators, designers, remodelers and homeowners who want to add color or just blend their electrical face plates with the room surroundings can do it in a “snap.”

Leviton has introduced Renu®, a new collection of electrical wiring devices, including switches, outlets, dimmers and wall plates, which feature easily changeable face plates that are available in 20 popular colors.

Renu allows homeowners to match the electrical devices of a room to the wall color or the trim, contrast them, or find their own mix-and-match style with other colors in the room. The Renu line of devices coordinates with popular paint colors adding appeal to any décor. Once the electrical components are installed, the sleek, screw-less wall plates snap directly onto the device, making the face plates easy for a homeowner to change again and again. Changing the faceplate is as easy as squeezing tabs and pushing down on hooks to remove the outlet face, and snapping on a new face.

The variety of available colors, such as Dapper Tan and Granny Smith Apple, allows Renu users to find the perfect color for their design. And when their tastes change, a homeowner can snap off the face and snap on a new color in seconds, without touching the electrical parts behind the wall or hiring an electrician to replace the device. The electrical components for Renu devices are easy to install as well – the devices are simple to wire, fitting neatly into a wall-box. The innovative tongue-and-groove design makes it a snap to align device parts in multi-gang applications.

Available in 20 popular paint colors, Renu products can blend in with the walls or contrast with the trim. One nice thing about the Renu line is the face plates are removable for cleaning.

They’re even dishwasher safe!!!
