First Impression:

I really liked the fit and stainless steel finish of the Gerber Gear Strata Multitool.

No rusting here!

The Gerber Strata Multi-tool has everything a serious outdoors man or handy person might need such as a saw, scissors, and a bottle opener.

One of my favorite features was the spring loaded pliers and carbide cutters. I used the cutters to cut Romex wire and splice 14 gauge wire easily.

The knife blade on the  Gerber Gear Strata Multitool is the “real deal” with a half serrated, half straight blade and is good enough to replace carrying a knife with the multi-tool.

This tool retails for $104 at Gerber’s website. Check out GerberGear for more details on the Strata multi-tool and other great knives and tools from Gerber.

Overall Impression:

This tool is extremely practical and well designed. The spring loaded pliers, and carbide cutters were my favorite as was the unique folding storage design.

The Strata has 13-outboard components. Gerber’s unique “SAF.T.PLUS” locking system keeps these components safely locked open or closed.

The Gerber 30-000334 Strata Multi Plier with Sheathcan be bought at Amazon.com for $ 59.95.
