Deckorators Introduces Fastendry at DeckExpo 2017

This past week Deckorators unveiled an innovated new deck weatherproofing system with fastening capability called Fastendry.  As more and more homeowners look to maximize the use of their outdoor space, “dry zones” under raised decks are growing in popularity. Now deck builders can create dry zones while realizing significant labor and cost savings.

Deckorators®, a leading brand of Universal Forest Products, Inc. has introduced Deckorators® FastendryTM at DeckExpo 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee. The exclusive system combines weatherproofing and deck board fastening capability in one solution — enabling contractors to add under-deck living space or storage in a faster, easier and more cost-effective way.

Fastendry fits in the slotted edges of Deckorators composite decking, forming a water-tight seal that prevents rain, melting snow and debris from passing through the spaces between boards. The innovative polymer insert also features nail flanges that allow for efficient deck board fastening during system installation — making it unlike any other weatherproofing solution available on the market.

“Many weatherproofing systems are time-consuming to install and secondary to a deck project itself,” said Chris Camfferman, category marketing director for Deckorators. “With the labor and cost savings Fastendry brings, contractors have the opportunity to upsell dry zones and help more clients make the most of their outdoor space.”

Availability

Deckorators Fastendry perfectly complements Deckorators Vault, Heritage, Vista, Classic and Frontier slotted-edge deck boards. It will be available for the 2018 decking season in black 12-, 16- and 20-foot lengths. Deckorators Fastendry is covered by a 25-year limited warranty on manufacturing defects.

Deckorators is the leading brand in composite decking, railings, balusters, post caps and other products. Fastendry joins Dexerdry® in the Deckorators line of deck weatherproofing solutions.
