It sounds convenient enough and sounds safe in theory. My gut feeling about them is -if I had one installed, I would feel compelled to test it occasionally with an external testing device. Anything, of course, can malfunction. I just don't feel I can trust them 100%. Something I would ponder, if it was mine -I wonder how the circuitry could stand up to transients over the longer term.
