Bosch Rotary Hammer RH850VC 1-7/8-inch SDS-max

The brand new Bosch RH850VC 1-7/8-inch SDS-max® Rotary Hammer is out and it sure looks promising!

The Bosch SDS Max Rotary Hammer boasts several “user friendly” features, and I mean that literally by NOT putting the operator though extra wear and tear!

This Bosch SDS Max Rotary Hammer  delivers 9.3 foot-pounds of impact energy, 150-305 RPMs, 1,380-2,760 BPMs and a 13.5 amp motor.

The Bosch SDS Max Rotary Hammer  RH850VC is the first Bosch Hammer to feature three levels of vibration control.

  • Level 1:  is a longer air cushion between the piston and striker in the hammer mechanism reduces vibration levels and improves impact energy and performance while a spring-loaded counter weight (tuned mass damper) moves in counter motion to the hammer mechanism, further reducing vibration levels at the source
  • Level 2:  consists of a tuned mass damper
  • Level 3:  vibration control on the tool’s decoupled main handle design rounds out the vibration control, absorbing vibrations before they reach users’ hands.

Combined these vibration control features provide up to 60 percent less vibration than the tool’s previous model.

The Bosch SDS Max Rotary Hammer has an SDS-max® bit system that allows for tool-free bit changes, an automatic bit lock once the accessory has been inserted and built in dust protection.   A Vario-lock mechanism rotates and locks the hammer’s chisel into 12 different positions to optimize a variety of working angle while a selector knob gives users the option to select from several functions including hammer drilling, chiseling only or the Vario-lock function.

Safety features such as a variable speed allow for controlled drilling and demolition and Bosch’s Constant ResponseTM circuitry provides soft-start and overload protection and maintains constant drilling speed under load.

One new feature on the Bosch SDS Max Rotary Hammer are “service minder brushes” that indicate when preventative maintenance is required.

The Bosch SDS Max Rotary Hammer will retail for approximately $799.
