Bosch DDS181-02 Compact Drill Driver

Bosch DDS181-02 Compact Drill Driver Review:

We’ve been using the Bosch DDS181-02 Compact Drill Driver , on the job-site for several months now and this is what we think:

The Bosch DDS181-02 has good balance and fits very natural in my hand. The rubber grips are non-slip and there are no sharp edges on or around the grip area. Other drills we’ve used are not comfortable after long periods of use.

This drill is nice to use even at the end of the day. We especially appreciated that it was lightweight which was a nice surprise was.

A wide angle LED light illuminates the work area in front of the drill really well.

What impressed us the most was the battery life.   A 30-minute lithium-ion charger quickly charges the batteries and we could not use up one battery before the other was fully charged which means no waiting between battery uses.  A fuel gauge on the battery is also convenient for estimating the battery life. The drill stands sure footed on its battery and the battery is quick and easy to change out.

One plus is the storage case – it’s rugged, yet compact enough to fit with other cased tools. All in all, I would have to say this drill is a good one.

I took the video below while visiting the Bosch headquarters for a media event – Bosch dropped one of the Tough Drivers 500 feet out of a helicopter and onto some grass.  An impressive and expensive demonstration to say the least.

The Bosch 18V Cordless Lithium-Ion Compact Tough 1/2-in Drill/Driver – DDS181-02, retails for approximately
