Bondera Tile Adhesive

Bondera Pressure Sensitive Adhesive

It’s no secret that adding custom tile to a home can increase its value and style, but for many homeowners tiling is not a DIY project.

Tiling Made Easy

Working with traditional adhesives such as mortar and mastic can be cumbersome and time consuming for even the most seasoned do-it-yourselfers and professionals, and, until recently, there has not been a suitable alternative.

Now there’s a new pressure sensitive adhesive that replaces the need for mortar and mastic, making custom tile jobs easy and mess-free.  Bondera Tile Mat, a new peel-and-stick adhesive from Grace Construction Products, is ideal for indoor tiling projects including backs-plashes, counters, tub and shower surrounds.  The product works with a variety of tile shapes and materials from ceramic subway tiles to glass mosaic tiles, and produces professional, quality results.

Using this new Bondera Tile Mat adhesive, tiling is now a simple three-step process:

  • Step One: Apply the double-sided adhesive directly on the surface to be tiled and peel off the protective release liner. The product works on any clean, flat and dry surface including drywall, plywood, laminate, Formica and over existing tile. It is also water-repellant and mold-resistant, so it works well in wet areas.
  • Step Two: Lay tile in place. Using this alternative adhesive gives you time to space and arrange the tiles exactly as you want before adhering them permanently.  Once the tile is in the desired position, press for three seconds to form a bond.  You can also readjust tiles for up to twenty minutes after the bond is formed.
  • Step Three: Grout the same day and enjoy! Unlike mortar and mastic, you can grout immediately so a tiling project that used to take an entire weekend can now be completed in one day.

Additionally, no special tools are needed to use the adhesive, just a few common items:

  • Tile
  • Tile spacers
  • A straight edge/framing square
  • A level
  • A utility knife
  • A permanent marker
