Milwaukee Torpedo Levels for Electrical and Plumbing Trades

Milwaukee® Introduces Torpedo Levels for Electricians and Plumbers

Milwaukee Tool recently came up with a 10-inch Torpedo Level designed for the electricians and a 10-inch Reaming Torpedo Level for   plumbers.  Both Milwaukee torpedo levels take into account the specific applications that users need.

Milwaukee Torpedo Levels

Tim Albrecht, vice president of hand tools, at Milwaukee Tool showed me this torpedo level early summer but the tool was not ready for public release so I had to wait till now to talk about it.

According to Albrecht, Milwaukee researches how core users use their tools every day in the field and uses that information to design their tools.

Milwaukee torpedo levels were designed to save time by incorporating two or three tools in one. In fact anyone who holds one of these levels in their hand gains secret leg strength that allows them to be able to sit without a chair  . . .  Just kidding Tim!  [see photo right]

Whats so Different About This Torpedo Level?

The 10-inch Torpedo Level has four level vials signifying 0, 30, 45 and 90 degrees.  The level features two holes for switch and outlet alignment allowing for easy installation.  As a general contractor there is nothing more annoying then seeing a beautifully finished addition with a crooked light switch.  The 30 degree vial and side magnets are useful when bending electrical conduit.

The 10-inch Reaming Torpedo Level has three vials centrally placed to protect them from damage.  The vials signifying 0, 45 and 90 degrees. The 0-degree vial has 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch markers on both sides to assist with aligning pipes for waste water drainage. Reaming edges allow users to ream PVC pipes from 1/2 to 6-inch in diameter.   Not that I am condoning using any level as a digging tool – one end of this torpedo level is angled and carved to serve as a shovel for clearing dirt.

The Milwaukee torpedo levels are tested by a special optic meter.
