IRWIN Marples Chisels Accomodates Three Trades

Three new Marples bevel edge chisel lines will accommodate three distinct trades including finish carpentry / woodworking, construction and high-impact.

I’ve been using these New IRWIN Marples Chisels for a few days and the fit and finish on them is great, the edge was super sharp out of the box and the striking chisels look like you can hit them with a sledge hammer.  Below are specifics on these three chisel styles:

Woodworking Chisel:

The IRWIN Marples Chisels for woodworking or finish carpentry features a 100 CRV blade, hardened to 58-61 HRC for improved sharpness and edge retention.  It is lightweight and designed to be struck with a wooden mallet or your palm.

The Woodworking Chisels are offered in 1/8″, 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″, 1″, 1 1/4″, 1-1/2″ and 2″ sizes and are sold in 3-piece, 4-piece and 6-piece wooden box sets.

Construction Chisel:

The IRWIN Marples Chisels for construction is an all-purpose bevel edge chisel that features a hardened and tempered blade for tough chisel applications.  The handle has what IRWIN calls a  ProTouch™ grip and I found it super comfortable.

The Construction Chisel has an over-sized steel strike cap can withstand repetitive hammer strikes. The Construction Chisels are available in 1/4″, 3/8”, 1/2″, 5/8”, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, 1 1/2″ and 2″ sizes, a 3-piece and 4-piece set.

High Impact Chisel:

The IRWIN Marples Chisels has an extra large stike cap and is designed for High-Impact striking.  A fully-forged steel core runs the entire length from the cap to the cutting edge for durability and strength while still providing you a super sharp, quality chisel edge.

This chisel is able to  handle multiple hammer strikes at multiple angles and a ProTouch™ over-mold grip ensures a comfortable and sure grip of the tool.  The High-Impact Chisel is constructed with a split proof acetate handle.

This chisel is available in 1/4″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″ and 2” short blade sizes, the High-Impact Chisels are ideal for builders and remodelers. The High-Impact Chisel is also available in 3-piece and 5-piece sets.
